What Fashion Trends are our readers predicting for Spring and Summer 2012?

We had great success with our recent Facebook competition looking for your thoughts and opinions on what the big trends for Spring & Summer 2012 will be. We were so impressed with all of the entries we thought we’d share them on our blog. So what are our blog readers and Facebook fans predictions for this season?
- Prints: You were virtually all in agreement that prints and vibrant patterns will be everywhere this spring. You name it - geometric prints, retro floral prints, lace prints and tribal touches. This season will also see brightly coloured jeans and printed jeans. Nelo’s advice for the more conservative fashionista among you is to pair a printed tailored blazer with just a simple black top and some pants. But we know that some of you will embrace the trend that was the story on the runways and are really looking forward to dressing your bumps in “vibrant, swirling, head to toe patterns.” Do and you know you're guaranteed to turn heads!
- A riot of colour: This season you are predicting both saturated sorbets and bold, vivid colours. Vibrant greens, reds and yellows. You are tipping bold block colours to come back again. The trend in pastels and sorbets will particularly extend to nail polishes, see below. However, timeless black and white fashions will also endure.
- What else? You are predicting that vintage styling, such as the Mad-Men look, will dominate while others are tipping a Nautical trend, of red white and blue. You’ve also told us that stripes will remain on trend, and when worn with jeans and a blazer will complete the look! Accessories will be key, brooches, belts, and the pastel nail polishes mentioned above. We thoroughly agree with the following reader who said “It all has to be topped off by Choice and value.”
Congratulations to our competition winner Pamela, and we’ll leave the closing words to Aileen who suggests you should go for “soft feminine dresses and blouses with lots of draping in bright colours. Match these with tailored jackets and fitted cardigans in neutral colours and you're good to go!”
